Dr. Paola Buckley

Dr. Paola Buckley received her DDS from El Bosque University in Bogotá, Colombia in 2000. She practiced as a general dentist in her native city while serving as a teaching associate and researcher in periodontal microbiology for her school’s department of oral microbiology. Her love for periodontal research brought her to the United States to pursue a research opportunity at the prestigious Forsyth Institute in Boston, and later earn her Doctorate of Science in oral biology at the Boston University, Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2008. During her postdoctoral years she published several articles about periodontal disease biology.

But it was her love for patient care and education which motivated her to incorporate her knowledge of the periodontology basic sciences into a fulfilling clinical practice. She dedicated herself to pursuing additional training and completed a two-year specialty program in clinical periodontology and implantology at the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine and a DMD program designed for internationally trained dentists at the same university.

Currently, Dr. Buckley is a clinical assistant professor for the predoctoral periodontology department at Boston University Henry M Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where she supervises and instructs students in all aspects of periodontal disease and treatment. Dr. Buckley is very passionate about periodontology and dental implantology and is always current on the latest techniques and treatment services. She attends multiple professional meetings throughout the year and is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society and Hispanic Dental Association. She is committed to providing preventive services and excellent dental care to all patients.

During her free time, Dr. Buckley enjoys spending time with her son Matthew (Mateo) and her pets (Mitsy, Tessie, and Shea) in her home in Natick and beautiful beach house in Wells, Maine.

Dr. Eva Chiu

Dr. Eva Chiu is a Massachusetts native, having grown up in Belmont and received her B.S. in biology at Brandeis University in 2014. She graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2018. While at Tufts, she was on the executive board for the Asian Dental Student Organization. She organized and lead programs that provided care to the community with oral cancer screenings, exams, and oral hygiene education at various community centers, such as the Women’s Shelter and Golden Age Center.

After that, she completed an advanced education in general dentistry residency program at the Winslow Indian Health Care Center in Winslow, Arizona through NYU Langone Health in 2019. During her residency program, she expanded her skill set under the tutelage of seasoned general dentists and specialists in orthodontics, periodontics, and CEREC.

Dr. Chiu is a member of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society. In her spare time, she enjoys rock climbing, hiking, rollerblading, skiing, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her niece and nephew.

Nelda

Front Desk Manager

I get great enjoyment from helping our patients and being involved in all aspects of customer service. Whether I’m answering the phones or finding appointment times that work with patients’ busy schedules, I know I’m making things easier for them. I thoroughly enjoy working with the Pleasant Street Dental team, and especially getting to know all our patients.

When I’m not working, I enjoy camping, reading, walking, and spending time with my grandchildren.

Jeanne

Registered Dental Hygienist

After receiving my dental hygiene degree from the NH Technical Institute, I decided the city was calling my name and moved to Boston. Throughout my career, I have really enjoyed working with people and helping them improve their oral health. My favorite thing is to show patients how to floss! I truly value the relationships I have made with patients over the years and can’t wait to get to know new patients.

When I am not in the dental office, I live in Arlington with my husband Steven and our two girls, Molly and Cailyn. We enjoy exploring the Museum of Science and going to the beach.

Leah

Dental Hygienist

I enjoy working individually with each patient: developing a connection with them. During their visit, I talk with a patient about dental health. We work together to find the homecare routines and products that work for their needs. Providing oral hygiene education, cleaning a patient’s teeth, taking and reviewing X-rays, and doing periodontal charting are all part of my day. The best part, though, is seeing healthy, beautiful smiles!

My husband Troy and I live in Concord, NH. We share our lives with two cats, DaVinci and Dakota. Troy and I love being outside, especially hiking, biking, canoeing, and kayaking.

Valerie

Hygienist

I enjoy getting to know my patients individually, and building lasting relationships with them. The conversations we have, and how they share their lives with me, always makes me smile. I especially like working with our pediatric patients: seeing their excitement at learning how to keep their smile beautiful. I provide routine and periodontal cleanings, take dental X-rays, and teach patients how to maintain great oral health.

I’m a busy mother with two kids. When I’m not working, I enjoy being with family and friends. I also like traveling, hiking, photography, and Zumba, as well as walking our Beagle in the woods.

Maria

Business Director

My goal is to ensure the office runs smoothly so our patients have the best dental experience possible. I’m passionate about great teamwork, clear communication, and flawless business practices. An MBA in business administration and more than 30 years in brand management have provided a terrific foundation for my dedication to our patients, Dr. Richardson, and the fabulous team at Pleasant Street Dental.

Outside of work, I love to play tennis & golf, read, do needlepoint, and travel (especially to Europe).
